The Gambia’s national team coach, Sang Ndong has released the list for his 22-man-squad set to face the Central African Republic in an international friendly match.
The game which is scheduled for Friday, 23rd March, 2018 at the Independence stadium in Bakau as part of the FIFA International break, will see a combination of some regular first teamers and some faces in squad assembled by Ndong, who doubles as the team’s coach and the technical director, alongside the national U-23 Head Coach Omar Sise, U-20 Head Coach Matarr Mboge and GPA Head Coach Alagie Sarr.
The inclusion of the likes of star players like the in-form Modou Barrow, Buba Sanneh and the team’s skipper, Omar Colley will be a real boost for the squad after the confirm absence of Baboucarr Steve Trawally and Mustapha Carayol due to injury and supposed ‘work permit’ issue for Steve. Both were also missing in the last international friendly in Morocco back in November 2017, where the team emerged winners against Morocco’s CHAN team, with goals from Assan Ceesay and Dawda Ngum sealing a 2-1 victory.
The Scorpions also won by the same scoreline the last time they played CAR in March 2017 in Rabat, Morocco, where the England-based duo, Modou Barrow and Carayol scored to secure the victory.
